A Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Card is a specially programmed microchip that inserts into a compatible Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) mobile device. The SIM card encrypts transmissions and identifies the user and the user's location to the mobile network.

So, what is a Sleeping SIM Card? Basically, it is a SIM card that remains dormant in your device for extended periods of time and only activates as needed. When the need arises for the device to be activated, an ASL technician will send a signal to SIM card at which time all GPS Location features will be active.

American Security & Protective Services through American Security Logistics of Las Vegas, Nevada provides monitoring and alert services for the TR-151. The Alert center is a 24/7 tracking and dispatch center, monitoring the conditions of every TR-151 in service. The system has automatic alert and alarm capabilities for a wide range of criteria, both situational and database-oriented and can be sent for any combination of informational purposes requiring concurrent multiple sensor data. Alarms can focus on shipment attributes, motion, stationary zones, anchorages, boundary crossings, transits, and routes, closest points of approach, status changes and schedule changes. When a threshold alarm is triggered the TR-151 will send notices via e-mail, text, internet, or phone call to the Alert Center or Stakeholder. The information provided will then be acted on in accordance to customer specifications. This includes contacting supervisors, shippers, driver, law enforcement, insurance carriers, receivers, drivers, or dispatchers.Visibility into exact locations of cargo has never been as important as today due to the increased movement of cargo from offshore, the need to move it quickly to final destinations and new security requirements. Our TR-151 sensor technology provides critical visibility into supply chain activities, delivering benefits to carriers, shippers and customers. Multiple levels of TR-151 device technologies can be applied individually or in tailored combinations: Asset tracking uses the TR-151 mobile communications, and other tools to monitor the location and status of tractors, trailers, chassis, containerized shipments and cargo. On-board status monitoring uses sensors to monitor vehicle operating parameters, cargo condition, and attempts to tamper with the load. Gateway facilitation uses non-intrusive inspection technologies to simplify and speed operations at terminal gates, highway inspection stations, and border crossings. Freight status information uses web-based technologies and standards to facilitate the exchange of information related to freight flows. Network status information uses the TR-151 sensor to integrate data from cargo while displaying technologies to monitor congestion, weather conditions, and incidents. The three principal triggers that support American Security Logistics's introduction of the TR-151 as the premier intelligent freight technology device are: ASL provides a situational awareness picture of a cargo location and condition. It supports awareness by collecting data from the mobile sensor (TR-151) and provides it for display in a command center. It includes cargo and facility database integration. The system permits targeting a cargo for surveillance. The Alert Center can view a display featuring cargo identifications and their location. By clicking on a cargo, the Alert Center will access information from various databases and determine whether any threat is present. The threshold of that threat determination can be decided in advance by the customer. An ASL system can be built from the ground up or incorporated into an existing company infrastructure. Web clients permit first responders to access the VISSI Pallet via the Web. The ASL system includes a simple Control Console Interface for User Setup, Query and Control of Environmental Monitoring, Environmental Control and shipping functions. Alternatively, the User can query and configure the ASL system via a simple Menu Driven program installed on their PC. The TR-151 is a shipping cargo tracking system for any size company. The system enables efficient tracking and management of cargos within a storage area or a truck by exploiting the advantages of ZigBee, RFID, wireless sensor network nodes, and cargo tags. It doesn't require any additional infrastructure and blends seamlessly with the current management/tracking methods used in the industry effectively extending their capabilities with remote querying, localization and security.

Product Solutions Product Overview The TR-151 device targets tracking of high-value packages in primarily outdoor environments. When in active mode, tracking GPS location, and sending location updates over the GSM cell radio, the device is expected to last 3-15 days depending on its reporting rate. The on-board accelerometer will be used to enable a passive mode as well. When the device isn’t moving, it will automatically turn off its GSM and GPS subsystems and extend the battery life to weeks or months. The TR-151 device communicates to the ASL Information Management Bureau via a direct socket connection over the GSM cell phone network and internet cloud. In this respect, a TR-151 reports readings or receives queued commands whenever necessary via a direct data link into the servers. Also, the servers can inform the device to call in via an SMS text message which will be received whenever the device is attached to the GSM network. The device also includes a second radio to form a potential uWLAN (ultra-low power Wireless Local Area Network) radio that will allow it to communicate with other GT devices up to 100s of feet away. The TR-151 contains a rich suite of sensors for tracking the quality of shipments as well as alarm conditions. These sensors include cold chain monitoring sensors (temperature and humidity), quad-positioned light sensors (as a proxy for tamper detection), a digital three-axis accelerometer (for understanding motion/rest periods, impact events, and box orientation), a pressure sensor (as a component of the airplane algorithm) and of course GPS (for absolute Location data). As part of the uWLAN subsystem, a low-power integrated microcontroller with appropriate firmware is provided to drive these sensors and achieve optimal power management of the entire device. This is performed through a careful arrangement of both interrupting and sampling algorithms depending on sensor type.

Technology Technology Overview The American Security Logistics System uses technology exclusively for all sensor products and projects. The ASL service model will immediately respond to security threats and is capable of facilitating rapid sensor use without impeding the flow of commerce. There are "mobile" or "stationary" solutions available for preventive security protection applications. The IMB Information Management BureauThe Information Management Bureau (IMB) assists clients by tracking individuals and assets, monitoring locations, special events, network security, supply chain security, etc. Enterprise, end-to-end solutions are also available. Access is global and seamless, providing 24/7 near real-time monitoring via two-way, redundant communication utilizing cell, satellite, and wireless LAN. The IMB platform is fully web-accessible with priority configurable user access by need and data element. The system provides security recovery and evidentiary information, emergency dispatch and notifications, and 3rd party validation for corporate and insurance purposes.
